Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell has passed away. The rock band’s frontman died at his home in Boise, Idaho on Monday morning at the age of 56, his manager confirmed to NBC News. Following the news, the official Instagram account for smash mouth paid tribute to Steve, sharing, “Steve Harwell was a true American Original. A larger than life character who shot up into the sky like a Roman candle. Steve should be remembered for his unwavering focus and impassioned determination to reach the heights of pop stardom.”
