Angourie Rice, who played Betty Brant in the first three Tom Holland-led “Spider-Man” movies, addressed her absence from the latest installment, noting that reprising her role was never on the table. The actress weighed in on her MIA status in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” after “Collider Ladies Night” host Perri Nemiroff asked what she thought became of her resilient and hardworking comic book character. “I don’t know. She’s probably practicing ethical journalism and, you know, doing it in style,” Rice said of Peter Parker’s classmate. “I like to think she’s got a good job somewhere and, you know, doing something worthwhile. Meaningful.” After mentioning that some “Spider-Man” fans were disappointed by her absence in the fourth film, Nemiroff asked Rice point-blank if it was “on the table” for her to return in the latest installment. “I don’t think it was like part of the story,” she responded. “Like, everybody forgets and then, you know, he’s on his new journey now. … I think that’s meaningful for the story, too. You know, you watch this character grow from high school, and he’s not in high school anymore, and I think it’s like – it’s a new era.” Watch her comments about…

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) slammed Donald Trump’s White House ballroom project as “insulting” after the Supreme Court allowed construction on the $400 million project to continue Monday. “You have everyday Americans, working-class Americans, they’re not getting a refund on the tariffs that they were illegally charged,” the congresswoman from New York sounded off during a gaggle with press in Washington, D.C. “Their health care subsidies have run out, so small businesses and everyday Americans are paying more for health care and their prescriptions than they ever have.” She continued: “And we are sitting on money to be able to help everyday Americans, and instead the President is using it on his ballroom. And so I could not think of something more insensitive and insulting to everyday working people than this choice of an expenditure.” Watch her comments below. A representative for the White House did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment AOC on Ballroom: You have everyday Americans, working-class Americans, they’re not getting a refund on the tariffs that they were illegally charged. Leonora Ann Darby, an executive producer on Curry Barker’s “Obsession,” sued two of her fellow producers Monday, alleging she was cut out of her share of the horror movie’s profits after they reneged on an agreement. Per the lawsuit, which was filed in California state court, James Harris and Mark Lane, the co-founders of Tea Shop Productions, agreed to treat her as an equal producer, but was allegedly shut out of “Obsession’s” net profit participation, despite her work “rescu[ing]” the movie. “This action arises from a seven-year pattern of unequal treatment and broken compensation promises by two older male film producers to a younger female producer whose labor was material to the growth of their company and who rescued their biggest film, the global hit ‘Obsession,’” the filing, obtained and viewed by TheWrap, stated. While Darby was named an executive producer on the horror film, her team argued in Monday’s filing that she served as the lead producer, with the suit highlighting that “Tea Shop’s contemporaneous communications acknowledged that Darby had carried [the company]’s takeover and had been more involved than Lane.” Representatives for Tea Shop Productions and Barker did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment. Additionally, Callella was ordered to pay $200 for a special assessment and was directed to report to the probation office within 72 hours of his sentencing. This update comes over a month after Callella pleaded guilty to two counts of harassment using a telecommunication device. At the time, it was reported that Judge John C. Hinderaker was planning to hand down a sentence of 10 years probation, with Callella slated to attend a residential addiction treatment facility before his sentencing date. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona shared in July that Callella had admitted in his plea to calling and sending text messages to Guthrie’s family members on Feb. 4, and that he asked about a bitcoin transfer. “Callella acknowledged that he knew an earlier ransom demand had been made,” the statement noted. “Callella also admitted that his actions were meant to harass…
