Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie shocked fans after swapping out Ilya Rozanov’s signature curls for a buzz cut amid filming season two of the gay hockey romance. His latest outing comes days after he was seen filming the gay hockey romance in a sleek black suit, turtleneck and sunglasses outside of a local funeral home in photos taken by the Hamilton Spectator. Although the production manager declined to tell the local outlet what moment was being filmed, fans have speculated that it’s the scene in Rachel Reid’s third book Tough Guy, in which Ilya and Ryan Price are the only hockey players to attend a fellow player’s funeral. The new haircut in the Crave series—which premiered on HBO Max in the U.S.—has taken the fandom by surprise, since Ilya’s curls are not only a staple of his character, but are also described as part of his look during the funeral scene in Tough Guy. Southern California’s newest rollercoaster Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is set to open at Universal Studios Hollywood — finally — on Sept. 16. “The theme park’s eagerly awaited first outdoor, high‑speed roller coaster will deliver an unprecedented surge of adrenaline and a new level of intensity to the destination, unlike anything experienced in the park’s decades‑long history,” according to Universal’s official description. Originally scheduled to open this summer, the technologically ambitious coaster has been beset by technical hurdles (with the attraction going down after testing had begun) and local controversy, as homeowners in the neighboring, affluent Toluca Lake have complained about the noise from the coaster impacting their lives. In response to the hubbub, Universal pledged to put up even more sound-blocking barriers, even after it went to great lengths to make the coaster as quiet as possible. They also said that the coaster would cease operation earlier in the day, even during the Halloween Horror Nights after-hours events, which can stretch on until 1 a.m. The attraction opens as the “Fast & Furious” franchise celebrates its 25th anniversary, which included a recent re-release of the first film (and a commemorative home video release). A new film in the long-running…

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Furious” Episode 8. “Furious” creator Liz Meriwether never expected her Hulu drama about an FBI agent (Emmy Rossum) pursuing a female serial killer (Lola Petticrew) to take off the way it has. While the “New Girl” creator has dabbled in dramatic material in recent years with shows like “The Dropout” and “Dying for Sex,” she had never felt more “exposed” working on a show than she did with “Furious.” “It sounds fake to be like, ‘I’ve been so surprised!’ But I genuinely have been really surprised and moved and a little confused by all the attention and excitement about it,” Meriwether told TheWrap. “I did not know how this was going to go. I felt really exposed and nervous about it, honestly, because I’ve never been good at earnest emotion. There were moments when I was writing and shooting and editing where there’s just characters crying and screaming, literally bleeding, and I was just like, ‘Oh my God. There’s no way to sugarcoat that. This is what it is.’ Especially the last episode.” Meriwether is right to single out the drama’s climactic eighth installment. An unflinching hour of television, the episode follows Rossum’s Alice…
Sean Fennessey thinks there is an “inherent conflict” with The Ringer podcasts streaming non-exclusively on Netflix. While talking on the “Talk Easy With Sam Fragoso” podcast Sunday, Fennessey – who is the head of content at The Ringer and co-host of “The Big Picture” podcast alongside Amanda Dobbins – spoke out against their parent company Spotify putting their podcast on Netflix. He pointed to a conflict of interest when they could be talking about Netflix films but that at the end of the day it was above his pay grade on that decision making. “I think there’s an inherent conflict with the work that we’re doing,” Fennessey said. “I don’t think it totally makes sense for a show that’s covering films released by Netflix to be licensed non-exclusively to Netflix – but it wasn’t my decision, so we’re working within that reality.” That was not the only gripe Fennessey had with choices made at The Ringer. He was also asked about “The Bill Simmons Podcast” – another podcast at the company hosted by Bill Simmons, who also founded The Ringer – now being sponsored by ChatGPT. That was news to Dobbins who looked over to Fennessey in the middle of the…

Friends star Lisa Kudrow shared insight into the one fan request she has turned down over the years as she reflected on her time starring as Phoebe Buffay on the beloved sitcom. The actress who starred alongside Jennifer Anniston, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, and Courteney Cox told NPR’s Fresh Air radio show, "Sometimes people will stop me and say, ‘Oh, sing Smelly Cat.’ I don’t want to do that. I really don’t want to do that." The song became synonymous with her character on the series as one of the show’s most-used running gags after she sang it in season two of the sitcom.
