After President Trump snapped at CNN’s Kaitlan Collins at a press stop on Tuesday, he followed it up with another his often late night social media posts, calling her a “SLEAZEBAG” and more. So, on Wednesday morning, Collins’ colleague Jake Tapper came to her defense, as well as the network’s. In his post, the president not only called out Collins directly, but also ranted that CNN employees are “all sick, treasonous, and demented” and shouldn’t have even been at the United Nations event, considering they said they wouldn’t be covering him. In his response, Tapper kept things brief. “Not going to dignify the president’s juvenile social media post about our brilliant @kaitlancollins except to say she and we are going to keep doing our jobs, which is to ask and cover the questions voters care about — like those about the war in Iran and the economy,” he wrote. How the ‘Possible Love’ Cast Tackled an Intimate Story That ‘Feels Like a Great Piece of Literature’
“Possible Love” is a hard movie to place. Lee Chang-dong’s festival feature has a simple enough premise: a laid-off worker and his life become intertwined with a documentarian and her husband as one family becomes the subject of the other’s latest feature. But this logline does a disservice to the quiet complexity bursting from Lee’s latest. At nearly three hours in length, “Possible Love” is a brilliant meditation on class, trauma, truth and, as the title implies, love itself — and its limitations. “As (Sul) Kyung-gu said in Venice, I thought that the script definitely had Director Lee Chang-dong’s scent on it,” star Zo In-sung told me at TheWrap’s TIFF studio via an interpreter. “It was intriguing. It was gripping. It was very intense.” “It always feels like when you read the screenplay (from Lee), you have read a wonderful novel,” Sul added, speaking via an interpreter. “It feels like a great piece of literature.” As the actors, along with co-stars Jeon Do-yeon and Cho Yeo-jeong, sat with me in Toronto, their director was an ocean away, that very same day accepting the Silver Lion — Grand Jury Prize for “Possible Love” at the 83rd Venice Film Festival. The film…
Seth Meyers will always laugh at his guests’ jokes, but it seems he’ll laugh a little harder if said jokes flop, and it’s a habit that Taylor Tomlinson outright thanked the NBC host for on Tuesday night. The comedian appeared on “Late Night” in support of her new book, “Actually, Nevermind,” and during the interview, walked Meyers and the audience through her process a bit. At one point, a joke about reading her old diary only got a smattering of laughs, but Meyers himself seemed to really enjoy it. So, Tomlinson called him on it. “I love — when a joke kind of misses, you laugh even harder,” she said happily. “It’s so — it’s really lovely. It’s so, so nice.” At that, Meyers reminded her that he didn’t need to buoy an earlier joke, which Tomlinson admitted her brother warned her before the show wasn’t that great. And yet, that punchline still landed. Still, Tomlinson doubled down on the praise. “No, you’re so supportive,” she said. “Or you’re just a sicko who loves it when things bomb. But you seem like you’re really supportive over here. It’s nice.” Meyers then compared himself to a baby laughing on an airplane,…

YouTube is making its platform friendlier for Shorts creators and living room viewers. Shorts creators will be able to turn their videos into series. As for living room viewers, they will soon be able to see posts and images from creators while also having the option to leave comments on videos using their remotes. New features for these two segments headlined Wednesday’s Made on YouTube event, the platform’s annual creator-focused presentation in New York City. Living room viewership has become an increasingly massive part of YouTube’s viewing equation. Nielsen’s Gauge report, which analyzes the most-watched streamers and networks on TV every month, has ranked YouTube as the No. 1 streamer for the past three years. Every day, more than 1 billion YouTube hours are watched globally on televisions alone. “For our top creators — the top 100 creators on YouTube — over half of them now have TV as their most watched interface,” Kurt Wilms, senior director of product management at YouTube, told TheWrap. First up is Shorts Series. Right now, it’s easy to stumble upon the eighth or 12th episode of a creator’s shortform show, forcing interested viewers to track down the creators’ profile and search through their content…
YouTube is continuing its partnership with Coachella. The streamer and Goldenvoice renewed their exclusive livestream and content partnership through 2030, the company announced on Wednesday during its annual Made on YouTube conference in New York. Under this new partnership, YouTube will remain the exclusive global livestream destination for both weekends of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. This news comes ahead of the 2027 installation of the festival, an event that will mark 15 years of YouTube streaming Coachella to fans worldwide. This year’s festival set a record for most viewers watching at one time in the history of Coachella on YouTube. What started as a single feed has transformed into a full-blown interactive experience over the past decade and a half. Fans are now able to watch multiple stages at once with YouTube’s multiview, experience a set alongside their favorite creators with livestreaming options, see exclusive behind-the-scenes Shorts from artists backstage and purchase festival merchandise, to name a few of the offerings from the partnership. As for artists, YouTube’s Coachella partnership gives them a global stage that extends past the festival grounds, letting them reach millions if not billions of international viewers tied to album launches and world…

President Donald Trump spoke at a White House ribbon cutting ceremony this week, but there was no audio from the event, as a result of the press pool boycott. But, Seth Meyers thinks that may be the key to covering the man going forward. Following the president’s ban of CNN, Politico and MS NOW from the White House, the rest of the press pool banded together to boycott covering the president, and a result, none of the pool reporters were present at the ribbon cutting — nor were their microphones. To kick off his monologue on Tuesday night, the NBC host first made fun of the president for not figuring out this would happen in advance. “Yeah, apparently he forgot the press pool is also who brings the microphones. If you’re going to ban news organizations from the White House, you really need to learn how to project,” he joked. That said, Meyers also thinks this whole debacle “may have accidentally cracked the code” on how to properly cover the president. “We don’t need to hear what he’s saying. He’s either bragging or lying. Let’s just lose the sound,” he said. “Basically, use the media as a baby monitor. We…
