Kim Kardashian revealed it was her grandmother MJ Shannon who gave her the most important piece of advice during her divorce from Kris Humphries. While detailing her brief marriage to Kris Humphries to journalist Jonathan Van Meter for his book Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, Kardashian said, “My grandmom was like, ‘Listen. My parents saved up all their money so I could have a big wedding because I thought I was in love. About a month or two in, I realized I’d made a terrible decision and I was so embarrassed. It was in the town paper! I just wasted everyone’s time and money and I was mortified.’” “I just thought, ‘Well, it’s cold feet,’” the 46-year-old—who was married to Damon Thomas before Humphries and was subsequently married to Kanye “Ye” West for eight years—explained. “But your gut, your soul, is always right.” Even mom Kris Jenner tried to direct Kim to an exit sign, saying, “I said to her, “Listen… I can just… I feel like… you’re not making the right decision.’ And I said, ‘If you want to cancel the wedding, just get out of here and I’ll figure it out.’”
