Getting the cancer diagnosis is never something you can prepare for, but somehow the Seinfeld, The New Adventures of Old Christine, and Veep star, Julia Louis-Dreyfus was determined to her battle into a positive. What does she credit to her being so public with her journey? Veep. Yes, she says if it weren’t for her show, she would not have shared her journey as much or as soon as she did. We’re getting into how Julia’s life forever changed the day after her historic Emmy win and how she found the strength to fight cancer, beat cancer, and put out a finale season of her hit show Veep, all within a year. All while also raising awareness for other people dealing with cancer diagnosis without being able to afford the necessary care. From Julia’s public approach and posts on social media to her finding moments to laugh through it all, Julia’s journey has inspired many, but her main source of inspiration was her show, her coworkers, and especially her family and close friends. Julia credits their ability to make her laugh and also publicly joining her on her very public journey (we’re also getting into why she felt it was important to make her journey public on social media) as what helped her get through her chemotherapy treatments. Cancer sucks, but Julia decided she wasn’t going to let the dark thoughts in and was instead focused on keeping going, and it paid off, as she was cancer-free after her six rounds of chemo.
