Widow’s Bay, nominated for a staggering 19 Emmy nominations, has been renewed for season two. As for how the Widow’s Bay team is responding to all the love? "I think genuine shock on behalf of all of us as a cast and relief," Rhys, who plays Widow’s Bay Mayor Tom Loftis, recently told E! News. "There was concern about what the tone would be and whether an audience would get it, embrace it, like it." Creator and showrunner Katie Dippold revealed this summer to Deadline that the crew headed back to the writers room and that coming up for ideas for season two has been easier than the first. She revealed during a panel August 16, “Week three and feeling great. I’m still happy they all signed up. It’s a tough pitch. I feel like a lot of groundwork was laid in season one so you can buy it. So, it’s making season two much more fun.”
