Whoopi Goldberg has a sister act-ing role in the works. The ‘View’ cohost announced alongside the show’s executive producer Brian Teta that she will be stepping away from the daytime broadcast so she can work on another project, in which she’ll get to flex her acting chops. “We’re going to lose you for a couple of days," Teta said to Goldberg during the Sept. 16 episode of the ‘Behind the Table’ podcast, "because you’re going to be doing this movie.” And after the ‘Sister Act’ star confirmed that she would be taking some time away to shoot the forthcoming Netflix film ‘Women Like Us’—also starring Jenifer Lewis, Vanessa Williams and Vivica A. Fox—the pair explained how her new schedule would shake out during that time. “You’re going to be gone over the next two weeks but you’ll be here on Mondays," Teta explained. "And the next few weeks, we’re going to have filling in for you, some of our friends, former co-hosts of The View.” Indeed, Lisa Ling, Star Jones, Sherri Shepherd and Debbie Matenopoulos—who all served as cohosts between the late ’90s and early 2000s—have all signed on to sit in Goldberg’s chair on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
