Tom Chadbon—whose decades-long acting career include appearances in Game of Thrones, Doctor Who and Casino Royale—died last weekend at age 80, according to Fantom Events, which hosted a signing with the British star earlier this year. Describing Chadbon as a "familiar face to many," the company shared in a July 27 statement, "He was always a warm and friendly man to work with and we send our condolences to his family at this sad time." Indeed, Chadbon frequented screens both big and small, holding acting credits in over 100 productions. Most notably, he played private detective Duggan alongside Tom Baker’s Doctor in the 1979 Doctor Who serial "City of Death." His last TV credit was ‘Game of Thrones,’ playing High Septon Maynard—who secretly married Rhaegar Targaryen (Wilf Scolding) and Lyanna Stark (Aisling Franciosi), resulting in the birth of Jon Snow (Kit Harington)—in the seventh season finale.
