Amid rumors Meghan Markle might sign on for The Gentlemen’s third season, star Theo James shared insight—and quipped about another royal joining the Netflix show. “No,” James told Town & Country of Markle’s potential casting in an interview published Sept. 2. “I think that was mainly hot air.” And while the Duchess of Sussex—mom to Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, with Prince Harry—won’t be joining to star opposite James, who portrayed Duke Eddie Halstead in the Netflix series, the Divergent alum joked that another former royal might be entering the mix. Referring to Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, he quipped, “Fergie is joining.” He added, “She’ll be playing my love interest.” But while James could be certain that Markle will not be stepping on to set any time soon, the 41-year-old admitted that the series hasn’t thought far past season two, which officially hit the streamer Sept. 3.
