Taylor Swift released the first look at the music video for her new single “Patient Zero” on Thursday morning, and it features some fairly unexpected faces. The teaser debuted on CBS Mornings and, in true Swift fashion, it was exactly 13 seconds long. The footage features Swift herself, of course, but also revealed that Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell are starring in the music video as well. Perhaps most surprising though is the cinematographer behind the video: Oscar winner Emmanuel Lubezki. You can see the video below. FIRST LOOK: The Showgirl era continues.#CBSMornings has the exclusive first look at the new music video for Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero,” from “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore.” pic.twitter.com/H9E9F70A8M— CBS Mornings (@CBSMornings) September 24, 2026 Lubezki is the cinematographer behind several massive films, including “Gravity,” “The Revenant,” and Tom Cruise’s upcoming film “Digger” (perhaps that’s what Swift and Cruise were discussing during the Chiefs game in the video that sent fans into a tizzy recently? Who’s to say). The footage is predictably vague, only showing snippets of scenes, including one of Johnson and Swift in a graveyard, and one of the trio sitting down together in a mysterious room. Surely, Swifties will…

“NAZA,” the buzzy Israel/Gaza documentary that received rave reviews after its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, will be released online for free after its theatrical rollout, The Guardian announced on Thursday. The film, which is produced by The Guardian and mk2, hails from Israeli Oscar-winning “No Other Land” filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor and features interviews with 24 anonymous IDF sources detailing the killing of Palestinian civilians. The film will receive its North American premiere on Saturday at the New York Film Festival before opening four days later at the IFC Center in New York City, followed by an expansion to Los Angeles and other U.S. cities on Oct. 9 as part of a self-distribution model. “NAZA” will also be released theatrically in 55 other territories including the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, Hong Kong, Brazil, Turkey, Thailand, France, Spain, Germany, Turkey, Central America and the Middle East. After its theatrical run has concluded, “NAZA” will stream for free on The Guardian’s website. “NAZA is grounded in rigorous journalism published over the past three years,” said Harry Davies, a Guardian investigations correspondent and one of NAZA’s producers. “But it is also a powerful piece of cinema…
For Sony Pictures TV President Katherine Pope, the start, stop and repeat of “S.W.A.T.” is the classic Hollywood story. The Shemar Moore-led procedural escaped cancellation not once but twice as CBS attempted to wind down the long-running series to make room for new shows in development, only to be rescued through fan support and modestly strong ratings. After getting two extra seasons of life out of CBS, “S.W.A.T.” eventually reached the end of its road with its eighth installment in May 2025. But Sony Pictures TV, which co-produced “S.W.A.T.” alongside CBS Studios, knew there was still a hunger for the show and Moore’s Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, and made the bold decision to greenlight a spinoff series headlined by Moore — without a distributor attached. Instead, Sony stood as the sole producer and distributor of “S.W.A.T. Exiles,” avoiding the destruction of sets and enabling the studio to jump right back into production with much of the Los Angeles-based “S.W.A.T.” crew returning. Sony bypassed the sometimes years of development that could’ve seen “S.W.A.T. Exiles” stalled at a streamer or network — if it even made it to air at all — by taking on a fair amount of risk to front production…

Political podcasts increasingly look and function like television. Distributed through YouTube and available on connected TVs, they compete with cable and broadcast news for political attention — raising a consequential question for the television business: Are advertising dollars leaving for the newer, sexier medium? TheWrap’s findings suggest that, at least for now, the growth of political podcasts is expanding the advertising market rather than simply siphoning dollars from TV news. That distinction matters as the midterm elections approach, with a record $11.6 billion in political-ad spending projected for the 2026 cycle — including $5.6 billion for broadcast television, according to AdImpact. On the podcast side, advertisers have sharply increased their spending over the past two years. But because agencies can finance those buys through audio, digital video, creator, performance-marketing and integrated-media budgets, it is difficult to determine precisely where that growth is coming from. Ad spending on political podcasts jumped 42% in the first half of 2026 after rising 36% during the same period last year, according to Magellan AI estimates provided to TheWrap. Taken together, spending increased approximately 93% over two years. For context, the broader U.S. podcast-advertising market grew 17.6% in 2025, while overall digital advertising increased 13.9%,…

A federal judge ordered the Trump administration Thursday to immediately restore White House access to CNN, MS NOW and Politico, handing the three news organizations an early victory in their legal fight against President Donald Trump’s press ban. U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly granted the outlets a 14-day temporary restraining order, finding they were likely to succeed on their claim that the White House revoked their press credentials without constitutionally adequate due process. He ordered officials to “immediately return, reinstate, and restore” the hard passes revoked last week. “This is a high bar, but Plaintiffs have met it,” Kelly wrote in the eight-page ruling. Kelly also questioned the administration’s national-security justification for the ban, writing that officials offered “little to back up” their claim that revoking the outlets’ access would protect national security. “Nothing in the record that predates this suit suggests that the revocation of Plaintiffs’ hard passes was motivated by national security concerns,” Kelly wrote, noting that Trump instead focused on what he characterized as the outlets’ untruthful and negative reporting when he announced the ban. Trump announced Friday that he was banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House “effective immediately.” Reporters for the three…
