Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared an update on the link between Nancy Guthrie’s missing persons case and human remains found near her Arizona home. “PCSD Search & Rescue deputies are responding to reports of human remains found in a desert area near West Ajo Way and South La Cholla Boulevard,” Nanos wrote in a statement shared to X Aug. 17. “At this time, there is no indication they are connected to the Nancy Guthrie investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.” This is not the first time authorities have addressed remains near Nancy’s home. Previously, a human bone was found seven miles from her house on May 7. At the time, a spokesperson for the department told People that the finding was “not criminal in nature,” adding it was a “prehistoric anthropological investigation.” Nancy was reported missing by her family on Feb. 1. Following a two-month hiatus amid the ongoing search for her mother, Savannah made her return to Today April 6.
