Mary Steenburgen reacted to having Phil Collins in her family tree during an exclusive E! News interview at the 28th Television Academy Hall of Fame ceremony in Los Angeles August 13. Her son—whom she welcomed from her previous marriage with Malcolm McDowell before Ted Danson—film director and screenwriter Charlie McDowell, married the Genesis frontman’s daughter Lily Collins in 2021. “I feel very blessed and we love having Phil Collins in our family,” Mary said at the event honoring her husband Ted for his work in television. “She’s another person that has the most beautiful work ethic, in addition to her glamour and her beauty. As someone who has spent my life in this business, I’m really proud of how she conducts herself in the business, the grace of which she goes through it.”
