KATSEYE’s Sophia Laforteza shared she is taking a break from the group. “We are very sorry to share that Sophia will be temporarily unable to participate in upcoming promotional activities,” an announcement from HYBE x Geffen Records shared Aug. 7. “We understand how much EYEKONS were looking forward to seeing Sophia on stage, but it is imperative that her mental health and wellness are prioritized.” The record label emphasized that the 23-year-old continues to receive “the utmost support” before assuring fans that they will be checking in with her in September. The “Gnarly” singer also addressed fans in an Instagram Story, letting them know that her health must come first to ensure she is able to continue performing long-term. The news comes nearly six months after her fellow bandmate Manon Bannerman announced she would be going on hiatus.
