The actor shares images from his near-fatal hospital stay that resulted in the removal of his large intestine, due to a mystery autoimmune illness. The photos, which were shared with a trigger warning, show the toll Joe’s illness took on his body, from skin conditions to photos of his actual intestine. He previously opened up to ET’s Emily Curl about the impact his health struggles had on his then-wife, Sofia Vergara, who had to authorize a life-saving surgery and reportedly collapsed after receiving the phone call. These revelations are tied to the release of Joe’s memoir, ‘Bloodlines,’ out now.
