New photos appear to confirm North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is alive and well. But with so little intel emerging from the nation, it’s likely he will continue to be the target of death hoaxes. Taken at a Pyongyang clothing and footwear exhibition, the images show the 42-year-old with his 13-year-old daughter, Kim Ju Ae. However, because the image was provided by the North Korean government, the Associated Press noted that independent journalists were not given access to the event and its content could not be independently verified. The images followed an unsupported X claim from Chinese dissident Wanjun Xie, who alleged Kim died after suffering a brain hemorrhage. It’s not the first time Kim’s health has fueled speculation: He later reappeared publicly after his weeks-long absence in 2020 sparked similar death rumors.
