Today journalist Dylan Dreyer revealed that when she returned to the morning show after giving birth, her son Calvin, 9, preferred spending time with his nanny over his mom. “I went right back to work after my oldest was 3 months old,” Dreyer said on the June 11 episode of her podcast The Parent Chat, noting she had built a “village” of helpers including a nanny, her mom and her mother-in-law. “I loved my nanny. But I remember when Calvin was a baby, maybe like 4 or 5 months, and he would only want her.” But while Dreyer’s concerns were valid, her guest Connie Simpson reassured the morning show host—who’s also mom to kids Oliver, 6, and Rusty, 4, with ex Brian Fichera—it’s okay for that to happen. “Stop judging that. Be happy that that happens,” Simpson said. “It would be really devastating if it were the opposite."
