Chet Hanks came face-to-face with Eric André at ComplexCon, three years after the comedian made negative comments about the Running Point actor over his appearance on The Eric André Show. "Finally ran into @ericf–kingandre," he captioned the Oct. 5 Instagram video of him walking up to Eric, "who had NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER of trashing me to the media after I outshined him on his own show!!" Chet—son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson—continued, "After being sheltered by his security team, he began foaming at the mouth and admitted it was because he had a problem with me ‘mocking Caribbean culture’ when I did my Jamaican accent all those years ago." The "White Boy Summer" rapper—who went viral in 2019 for speaking in a Patois accent while congratulating his dad at the Golden Globes—was not thrilled by Eric’s reasoning. "WHO KNEW that in addition to the brain rot and poop joke humor he is known for, Eric is also such a passionate cultural activist," Chet chided. "Great running into you Eric!!!!"
