Billie Lourd shared her message for Lizzie Borden’s sister Emma Borden with E! News at the premiere of Ryan Murphy’s Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, which airs Sept. 17. Billie—who plays Emma alongside Ella Beatty’s Lizzie Borden—said, “One thing I could tell Emma? I’m sorry. Brutal. I’m sorry girl.” The Netflix series, also starring Charlie Hunnam, Rebecca Hall and Sarah Paulson, is based on the 1892 murders of Lizzie and Emma’s father Andrew Borden and stepmother Abby Borden. While Lizzie was initially arrested and charged for the crime, she was acquitted on June 20, 1893, and the murders have since remained a mystery.
