Charlize Theron is championing a cause close to her heart as she hits the tennis court! This past weekend, the actress hosted the 20th Annual Desert Smash charity celebrity tennis event, which this year benefited the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project. “We really believe that all young people should have safety, education – every young person all across the world should have access to that,” she told Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans of the organization’s mission during an exclusive sit-down at the event. Charlize also reflected on her memories of winning Best Actress at the 2004 Oscars two decades ago, which she called an “out-of-body experience.” “I just remember coaching myself, like, ‘Don’t cry, don’t cry, don’t look at your mom, your mom will make you cry,’ and then I failed completely at that,” she quipped. Plus, the actress also remembered her sun-kissed skin at the award show was all natural. “Everybody thought I had a fake tan, and the truth is that I was in Brazil for three weeks prior to the Oscars. It was just so funny to me. I was like, I was like, ‘No, that’s actually a real tan.’ And by the way, not a good decision. Like, do not do that either – fake tan, real tan,” Charlize joked.
