The former ‘Empire’ actor’s rep tells TMZ, “Jussie has had an extremely difficult past few years. He has quietly been working very hard for some time now and we are proud of him for taking these necessary steps.” Word of his treatment comes amid Jussie Smollett’s appeal in his false police report case. Jussie was convicted on five counts of disorderly conduct in 2021 and later sentenced to 150 days in prison plus 30 months of probation. He was released pending his appeal. The celeb claimed he was the victim of a 2019 hate crime in Chicago.
