Kevin Spacey spoke to reporters outside a London courthouse on Wednesday after a jury found him not guilty on nine counts of sexual misconduct. “I imagine that many of you can understand that there’s a lot for me to process, after what has just happened today. But I would like to say that I’m enormously grateful to the jury, for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence, and all of the facts carefully before they reached their decision, and I am humbled by the outcome today. I also want to thank the staff inside this courthouse, the security and all those who take care of us every single day. My legal team Evan Lowenstein and Lucy for being here every day, and that’s all I have to say for the moment. Thank you very much,” he said. Four men had accused the “American Beauty” and “House of Cards” star of sexual offenses that allegedly occurred between 2004 and 2013 while Spacey was the artistic director of London’s Old Vic Theatre. He pleaded not guilty to each charge. The performer’s indictment originally contained 13 charges which were later reduced to nine on technicalities, per NBC News. Spacey’s newest legal victory comes months after he was found not liable in a $40 million civil lawsuit from actor Anthony Rapp, who accused Spacey of sexual battery in 1986. Spacey had denied the allegations and the claim was dismissed in court.
