After Elizabeth Siders and Gary Siders Jr.’s 16 children were rescued from their Ohio “House of Horrors,” a state official revealed they’re facing additional charges in a separate case after they allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a minor. Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson announced in a news release that Elizabeth, 33, and Gary Jr., 36, have been indicted on multiple charges after an investigation determined that they allegedly “engaged in sexual conduct with a minor more than 10 years younger than their own age.” Wilson said that the minor was not a member of their immediate family and was more than 10 years younger than the couple at the time of the alleged incident, which authorities claim occurred between January 2022 and September 2022. While their familial connection to the victim has not been revealed, Vinton County Prosecutor William Archer said that the “child sex abuse case involves intrafamily relations.” Joseph Duggar Asks to Question Investigators in Child Molestation Case Archer went on to say that deputies learned of the family’s living conditions when they were executing a warrant for Gary Jr.’s DNA in the child sex abuse case. While looking into Gary Jr., authorities discovered that Elizabeth, Gary…

It was a coincidence that I found myself talking to one of the leading advocates for Palestinian rights in Gaza this weekend, Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib. Alkhatib is a senior fellow at the think tank The Atlantic Council in Washington D.C. and has a new book out called “Hamas and its Two Million Hostages,” which argues for ending Hamas rule in Gaza and empowering Palestinians to have agency in their own land. I was interested in learning about the book and he agreed to meet via Zoom. But over the previous two days, a controversy had broken out over remarks made by progressive activist and actor Mark Ruffalo regarding Gaza and Paramount’s proposed merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. Ruffalo came under intense fire from Paramount itself — and by Sunday, four leading Jewish organizations — for tying the merger to the Ellison family and what he called Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza “which was built on an apartheid system of oppression powered by Oracle.” Both Paramount and the Jewish groups, including the Anti-Defamation League, called his remarks “antisemitic.” Ruffalo shot back on social media that their criticism was “appalling and fundamentally dishonest.” In an interview with TheWrap’s @sharonwaxman, @afalkhatib pushed back on #MarkRuffalo’s…
Stand-up comedian and creator Corey O’Brien and his longtime boyfriend, former NFL player Ryan “R.K.” Russell, are teaming up for their first professional collaboration with the short-form digital comedy series “The Parking Guy” set to premiere Sept. 3. The scripted series stars O’Brien as Doug, a parking enforcement officer navigating awkward, absurd and unexpected interactions while working what the show describes as “the world’s most-hated profession.” Russell serves as creator and director, while O’Brien and Russell executive produce through Russell’s Red Velvet Productions. Designed as a social-first, short-form episodic comedy, “The Parking Guy” will roll out digitally across TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. The premiere season will feature an ensemble of guest stars including Margaret Cho, Jessica Marie Garcia, Willam Belli, Zainab Johnson, Alexandra Shipp, Jerrie Johnson, Alexa Mansour, Dewayne Perkins, Courtney Parchman, Nico Santos, Alec Mapa, Nnamdi Ngwe, D.K. Uzoukwu, Cyrus Hobbi, Deitra Leak, Rachael Harris and Justen Ross, among others. Corey O’Brien stars in “The Parking Guy.” O’Brien, who’s been dating Russell since 2019, told TheWrap of the exclusive announcement that working together was a natural progression in their relationship as “each other’s biggest cheerleaders,” but they “wanted it to be on something that we were both…
This year, more than 180 programs were nominated for Emmy Awards. While eight of those shows hit double digits in nominations, 88 of them — almost half the total — had to settle for a single one. Those one-nom programs ranged from “Antiques Roadshow,” claiming its usual spot in the Outstanding Structured Reality Program category, to “Your Way Out — Coinbase,” one of the finalists for Outstanding Commercial. But one show, “Your Friends & Neighbors,” did something remarkable: It earned only one Emmy nomination, but that nom was for Outstanding Drama Series. Voters thought the Apple TV series’ second season was one of the eight best dramas on television in 2025-2026, but somehow they didn’t feel it warranted recognition in any of the 120 other categories. How incredibly rare is that? So rare that it hasn’t happened since 2009, when the HBO series “Big Love” got the top nod for its third season without receiving anything else. That was the only other time the feat has been achieved in this century. “It was very surreal,” creator and showrunner Jonathan Tropper said. “It took me a minute to comprehend it. It sort of felt like winning the popular vote as opposed…
Focus Features has greenlit “Old Friends New Friends,” a new comedy from writer-director Mike Birbiglia. Birbiglia will also produce the movie alongside Jacob Jaffke and Joe Hartwick for Oddball Entertainment. Birbiglia’s latest is set to star Lucas Hedges, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Geraldine Viswanathan and Dylan Gelula. The official logline for “Old Friends New Friends” reads: “When a tight-knit group of college friends travels to a summer camp for their old friend’s wedding, they discover he’s built a new life – with new friends – forcing them to confront what they’ve lost, who they’ve become and whether growing up means growing apart.” Birbiglia, an Emmy-nominated comedian, has performed solo shows around the world and has written and directed two previous features — 2012’s “Sleepwalk With Me” (which was based on his own autobiographical one-man show and subsequent book) and 2016’s “Don’t Think Twice.” He’s also appeared in features like “Trainwreck” and “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping” (he’s also set to appear in Judd Apatow’s Glen Powell-led “The Comeback King” next year) and television series including “Orange Is the New Black” and “Billions.” Additionally, he’s done four comedy specials for Netflix, including “The Good Life” from last year. Focus is having a very…
