“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough blamed the White House for turning this week’s controversy surrounding Natalie Harp, President Trump’s executive assistant, into a national news story, remarking that the Trump administration has made “a classic miscalculation.” Harp, who has served as Trump’s executive assistant since last year, has become a household name over the last few days. She was thrust into the national news cycle after Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) remarked at a rally last Sunday that Trump wants to “build his ballroom and travel with Natalie” instead of actually doing his job as president. Harp’s name has remained in the news cycle as figures from both the Left and the Right have debated the severity of Ossoff’s comment. Scarborough, for his part, said the White House has only hurt itself. “Nothing about this has made sense,” Scarborough said. “I’ve been in the White House and I’ve talked to Donald Trump, the president, and seen [Harp] there. Never once assumed anything inappropriate was going on. The suggestion coming from Republicans that Ossoff somehow suggested that with this throwaway line, I thought was bizarre.” “For the White House to freak out like that, to melt down like that, they made this…

Peacock’s “Dungeon Crawler Carl” TV adaptation has recruited “Arrival” writer Eric Heisserer as a co-showrunner alongside Chris Yost. Heisserer has been tapped to co-showrun and executive produce the live-action adaptation of Matt Dinniman’s LitRPG (literary role-playing game) series alongside Yost, who was previously attached. The news comes just under two months after Peacock granted “Dungeon Crawler Carl” a straight-to-series order in mid-June. Hailing from Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door and Universal Global Television, the series is executive produced by MacFarlane as well as Fuzzy Door’s Erica Huggins and Rachel Hargreaves-Heald. Dinniman serves as a co-executive producer on the TV adaptation, which also has Jeff Hays on board to star as Princess Donut. The official synopsis for the series is as follows: “An alien invasion has wiped out most of humanity and any survivors are forced to fight for their lives on a sadistic intergalactic game show. Na Hong-jin’s acclaimed genre epic “Hope” will have exclusive early-access premium format screenings on Monday, Sept. 7, two days ahead of its nationwide theatrical release. The film, which upends the conventions of the alien invasion movie, will screen in 175 premium large format locations across the country in six premium formats, including Dolby, 4DX, ScreenX, Barco HDR, D-Box and Dolby Atmos, with participating theaters in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and more. According to Neon, the event “will give fans an early opportunity to experience the scale and spectacle of Na Hong-jin’s latest on premium screens, from its epic action sequences and massive set pieces to its sweeping cinematic sound and scope.” TheWrap’s review out of Cannes called the movie “an all-time great action film.” “Not only do all the terrific technical elements make it a must-see action theatrical experience, but when it’s firing on all cylinders, it’s right up there with modern action classics like “Mad Max: Fury Road” while also remaining something special all its own,” the review read. The premium large format approach mirrors the strategy Neon took with Osgood Perkins’ horror comedy “The Monkey,” which went on to gross $40 million at the box…

On April 29, Heather Mashburn-Smith was arrested after being accused of having sex with an underage student in her classroom at Port Charlotte High School. “Can you just show us where in the room the sexual activity took place?” a deputy from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office asked Mashburn-Smither, 37, according to the bodycam footage released by Law & Crime on Thursday, August 20. Mashburn-Smith then walked the officers to the back of the classroom and pointed to a pair of desks. Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down from their responsibilities as senior working royals in 2020 and settled across the pond in Montecito, California, before deciding to move back to the United Kingdom. “It was never walking away, it was stepping back rather than stepping down. It was a really difficult environment as I think a lot of people saw,” Harry clarified on The Late Late Show With James Corden in 2021. “It was destroying my mental health. … I did what any husband and what any father would do, which is [say], ‘I need to get my family out of here,’ but we never walked away. As far as I’m concerned, whatever decisions are made on that side, I will never walk away.” After six years abroad, news broke in August 2026 that Harry and Meghan planned to relocate to England with kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who were already enrolled in a local school for the fall semester. While neither the Duke nor Duchess of Sussex have publicly addressed their decision, a source exclusively told Us that Harry was “not as happy” living in the United States as his wife. Fans of the Miss USA pageant won’t be able to watch the event on The CW this year. Just a week before it was set to air, the organization announced that “a contractual issue” led to the broadcast being dropped from the network. In an Instagram story posted on Tuesday, the official Miss USA account explained the timeline of events, and why The CW won’t carry the show this year. “Two weeks ago, we identified a contractual issue with our production arrangements that could not be resolved within the necessary timeframe,” the post read. “Since then, our team has worked diligently to explore options that would allow us to continue with a live broadcast on The CW. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach mutually agreeable terms for this year’s event.” In a statement to media, The CW confirmed the decision, saying: “After careful consideration and conversations with the Miss USA Organization, The CW Network has decided to forego next week’s broadcasts of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants. We wish the organization and all of this year’s contestants well in the competition.” It appears there’s no bad blood though, as the Miss USA post went on to note…

Kim Zolciak’s 15-year-old son, Kroy “KJ” Jr., has been arrested, Us can confirm. KJ was arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia, on Monday, August 17, for aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual assault, per court records obtained by Us. A judge did not set bond, and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for September 8. KJ is currently being held at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center. “The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling,” Zolciak, 48, said in part of a lengthy statement to Us on Friday, August 21. “He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged. A car. Four actors. An endless road. These essential components make up the majority of Gen Z filmmaker Alex Ullom’s debut feature, “It Ends.” The film, which premiered at South by Southwest in March 2025, follows a group of four friends who, fresh out of college and on the precipice of adulthood, find themselves stuck on a purgatorial road that never ends (likewise, they will never starve, need sleep or run out of gas). With a monotonous infinity stretching before them, the group has two options: Get out of the car and become mindless bodies, or keep driving in the hope that something, anything, lies ahead. “If it’s not clear in the movie, I had a pretty rough transition into adulthood, at least mentally and emotionally,” Ullom told TheWrap. “When I first wrote the movie when I was, s–t, like 21. I was coming from a lot more of an emotional, physical place, feeling like, Damn, is this the rest of adulthood? Is that what my life is going to be like?” Ullom, now in his late 20s, captures a feeling of generational ennui in his debut feature, a film that’s distinctly youthful and modern while also feeling universal. It…
