Former University of Kentucky competitive cheerleader Laken Snelling has been sentenced to prison after causing the death of her newborn baby boy last year. Snelling, 22, received a 10-year prison sentence on Friday, October 16. She faced a possible sentence of 13 years after pleading guilty in August to first-degree manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and concealing the birth of an infant. At the plea hearing, Snelling told the court, “Instead of helping him, I ended his life.” Fayette Circuit Judge Diane Minnifield sentenced Snelling to 10 years for manslaughter and one year each for the other charges, but ordered the sentences to run at the same time, rather than one after the other. ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky Announces ‘Unimaginable’ Death of Brother-in-Law Snelling, a former member of the University of Kentucky’s STUNT cheerleading team, was arrested in August 2025 after her roommates discovered a “blood-soaked towel on the floor and a plastic bag containing evidence of childbirth” in Snelling’s closet. The roommates called the police after finding the newborn’s body, which was cold to the touch. Paramount/Legendary’s “Street Fighter” led the Thursday box office as fans of the fighting game series showed up to the tune of $4 million to preview screenings. But A24’s buzzy “You Can See Everything” is making some waves of its own with $1.7 million from previews, a total that’s unheard of for any documentary, let alone one with a near-three-hour runtime. “Street Fighter” is aiming for a domestic opening weekend north of $30 million with a global opening weekend around $70 million. The colorful action film from director Kitao Sakurai had a reported $82 million budget co-financed by Legendary and “Street Fighter” game publisher Capcom. Critics aren’t impressed by “Street Fighter,” but fans are generally pleased as the film has a 46% critics and 82% early audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The film will face the same challenge that fellow fighting game adaptation “Mortal Kombat II” faced earlier this year of raising interest beyond its core fanbase to prevent a frontloaded theatrical run. Meanwhile, “You Can See Everything” earned a very impressive $1.7 million total from just 855 locations, topping the $900,000 preview total of 20th Century’s “Whalefall” from 3,065 locations. Directed by “Primetime” filmmaker Lance Oppenheim alongside Nathan Fielder, “You…
It’s 25 birds, it’s 25 planes… it’s 25 years since “Smallville” premiered on The WB, introducing a more human take on Superman that would more than likely not fly in today’s over-saturated superhero climate. That’s according to series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who celebrated their show’s legacy with TheWrap in honor of Friday’s milestone anniversary — including its cast, the classic 22-episode-season formula and its impact on their current series, “Wednesday.” “Its legacy is being kind of the first superhero television show that really explored the character over the costume. That’s something we were very proud of at the time,” Gough shared. “Some of that, interestingly, was by design, and some of it was just the nature of where superheroes sat at that time; pre-Marvel Universe. The last iteration of Superman had been ‘Lois and Clark,’ and actually, the network asked us to kind of shy away from the actual superhero elements of it.” “There was sort of an allergic reaction from the network of anything that smacked of superheroes, or anything that was cartoony or comic-booky — that was always the term,” he added. “The word ‘comic-booky’ was definitely a grave concern.” “There was moral complexity to…
After a woman was accused of fatally stabbing her husband and 3-year-old son in a hotel room at the Great Wolf Lodge, the husband’s family claimed she resented the boy and never wanted to be a mother. Metallica Rose Harrison was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal homicide on Monday, October 12, after she allegedly stabbed her husband, Charles Harrison, and their son, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by People. Charles, 36, and his son were found dead inside their hotel room at the resort in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains. Authorities learned of the incident when Metallica, 27, reportedly called 911 around 3 p.m. to report that she wanted to die and that her “husband and son are already gone.” Upon their arrival, authorities learned that Charles had been stabbed multiple times in the chest and the boy was stabbed one single time in the chest. Both the father and son were pronounced dead at the scene. Woman Who Was ‘Invested’ in Lindsay Clancy Trial Charged With Murdering Son Police said that Metallica was found suffering from wounds to her wrist and neck. The affidavit stated that she allegedly told 911 dispatchers she was “too weak to…
The cast of Sense and Sensibility spoke to some of the biggest changes the film makes from the book in an exclusive interview with E! News. For Daisy Edgar-Jones, who plays eldest daughter Elinor Dashwood, one of the best additions to this new onscreen telling are two new dance scenes; the first sees Esmé Creed-Miles’ Marianne and Frank Dillane’s Willoughby perform a raucous, touch-filled number, while the second is between Elinor and George MacKay’s Edward Ferrars. “There’s a dance between Willoughby and Marianne now, which originally in the book is a picnic,” she explained. “But what I love about it being a dance is it kind of creates this sort of conversation between the romance between Willoughby and Marianne and the romance between Edward and Elinor.” Full Story: https://www.eonline.com/news/1436937/sense-and-sensibility-daisy-edgar-jones-cast-detail-changes-from-book #enews #senseandsensibility #daisyedgarjones About: The E!
