Focus Features is closing in on Robert Eggers’ adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” following a bidding war, according to an insider with knowledge of the project. A24, Sony and Warner Bros. also bid on the package. The film continues Focus’ longstanding collaboration with Eggers, a partnership that has produced “Nosferatu” and “The Northman,” as well as the international releases of “The Witch” and “The Lighthouse.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the news, “this adaptation will feature actors speaking in Olde English.” The Shakespeare classic centers on two star crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet from two warring families, the Capulets and the Montagues, in the city of Verona, Italy. Like it did with “Nosferatu,” the studio is set to release “Werwulf” on Christmas Day in the States, likely in an attempt to replicate the success of Eggers’ last film, which grossed nearly $182 million at the worldwide box office on a $50 million budget. Whether or not “Werwulf” will be able to achieve a similar level of financial and critical success as “Nosferatu” remains to be seen. Eggers, however, said in 2025 that “Werwulf” was “the darkest thing I’ve ever written by far,” and the film’s…

Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian are two stylish peas in a pod. “OK guys, this looks a little crazy right now, but this is what it really looks like!” Jenner, 29, said via YouTube while showing racks of clothes for her to potentially pack for a trip to Saint Tropez. “I’m going to a wedding so I’m gonna try all of my dresses on [and] make sure the tailoring is good and then start packing.” “We’re fitting this right now,” she said while backing away from the camera in the butter yellow dress, featuring underwire cups, spaghetti straps, a corset bodice and a ruched skirt finished with a thigh-high slit. “It’s going to look a lot better,” Jenner told the camera of the design. In the next clip, Jenner got a spray tan before hopping on her private jet. “Europe, here we come!” she said. Kardashian, 45, first wore the look in May 2018 while attending a dinner hosted by the Business of Fashion. At the time, she styled the piece with a gold chain bracelet and Versace hair clips pinning back her mane. For glam, she donned glowy skin, filled-in eyebrows, long lashes, smokey eyeshadow and nude, glossy lips.…

Anna Camp HGTV Anna Camp took inspiration from a fan favorite reality TV host while leading HGTV’s A Very Haunted Renovation. “I have to say, I’m a huge Love Island fan, and everyone would say, ‘What are you doing now, Anna?’ And I was like, ‘I’m kind of the Ariana Madix of HGTV’s Haunted Renovation,’” Camp, 43, exclusively tells Us while promoting her new home renovation series. “She was my hero, my reality host hero, you could say,” the Pitch Perfect star adds of Madix, 41, who has hosted Peacock’s Love Island USA since season 6 in 2024. A Very Haunted Renovation, which premiered on HGTV on September 15, follows six designers who spend 31 days inside Fremont, Ohio’s Bihl Manor, a famously haunted Victorian home, to renovate it and win a $50,000 cash prize. The contestants must eat, sleep, live, and work inside the haunted house while tackling elimination challenges and fighting their own fears — a recipe for some serious tension. “Sometimes when you’re watching them, and they say things like that, you’re like, ‘Wait, they’re not joking,’” Camp tells Us of contestants who declared they weren’t there to make friends. “‘Oh no, they’re really serious right now.’…

After serving for a year-and-a-half as President Donald Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt says reporters used to apologize for “unfair” questions following press briefings. While talking on the “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” podcast this week, the former press secretary claimed that journalists were often forced to ask certain questions their editors wanted. “There’s a performative aspect to the briefing room,” Leavitt said. “In fairness, I think on both sides, right? But definitely with the press, and they have to do that because their bosses are demanding it. There’s been times reporters have even said to me, ‘I’m sorry, I had to ask that today. You know, my bosses really wanted me to ask that.’ They know it’s an unfair question, but they’re not in control of their own livelihood, they are dictated by the editors and the execs at some of these companies.” Leavitt stepped down as press secretary at the end of August after Trump announced her departure on his Truth Social page. She had been with the administration since the beginning of his second term. “Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the…

For a zombie apocalypse horror movie based on a genre-defining video game, the ending of Zach Cregger’s “Resident Evil” is actually pretty heartbreaking. And while there is a somber inevitability of where it takes our hero Bryan (Austin Abrams), now is a good time to offer a fair SPOILER ALERT: The following interview with Cregger and his star speaks candidly about that ending and exactly how it was made. Believe it or not, Cregger originally had an entirely different ending filmed and didn’t land on the berserk, gory, violent and, yes, sad conclusion that the critical and box office hit ended up with. The short of it is Bryan finally makes his way with the antidote to the top floor of the hospital, where a group of scientists is waiting for his delivery: a cure to the zombie virus wrecking havoc on their city. Little do they know that Bryan is infected after being bitten on his travels, and he’s increasingly evolving into one of the very beasts that have been tormenting him for the last 80 minutes. Losing control of the beastly tentacles growing off of him — and the chest-sized, fanged mouth devouring every living thing around him…

San Francisco sued Trump Media over a Truth Social service that charges trading firms as much as $100,000 a month for early access to President Donald Trump’s posts, alleging the product gives wealthy investors an unfair advantage on potentially market-moving information. City Attorney David Chiu announced the lawsuit Tuesday after filing it Monday in San Francisco Superior Court. The complaint targets Truth API, a data service Trump Media unveiled in July that gives paying subscribers faster access to posts from Trump and other prominent Truth Social accounts. The service promises speed — and a lot of it. Trump Media interim CEO Kevin McGurn has said Truth API gives subscribers a “50 millisecond advantage” that feeds directly into algorithmic trading platforms, according to the complaint. More than 10 customers, primarily high-frequency trading firms, had signed up for the service by late August, according to the complaint. “Trump Media created a marketplace that enables insider trading, which Trump directly profits from,” Chiu said in a statement. “This scheme turns the public trust into private profit.” The lawsuit alleges Trump Media violates California’s Unfair Competition Law by aiding and abetting violations of federal ethics and anti-corruption law and by violating federal insider-trading laws.…
