“Call Her Daddy” star podcaster and media entrepreneur Alex Cooper has outgrown United Talent Agency. Cooper shook up the agency and creator worlds when word got out on Sunday that she had left UTA, where she had been for over six years. Bloomberg reported that Cooper plans to sign with CAA. The move comes days after her and her husband Matt Kaplan’s three-year-old media company Unwell reached a $500 million valuation after an investment from WME co-founder Patrick Whitesell’s firm WTSL. Cooper’s ambitions to turn Unwell into a media powerhouse is likely why she made the move to CAA, which has spent the last few years building up its creator practice — including launching a $250 million holding company focused just on creators. But the change comes as she deals with controversies like allegations of cultivating a toxic work environment and more bad PR on the horizon from former employee Alix Earle. From a business perspective, it made sense for a creator of her stature to move to CAA. “CAA has cemented its role in the last three to five years as the true number one,” said a longtime agency executive. “So if someone is truly at the peak of their career, the…
Hayden Panettiere’s ex-boyfriend Brian Hickerson was denied his request to reduce two past felony charges three days before her death, according to court documents obtained by Us. Prosecution objected to Hickerson’s motions to expunge and to reduce the charges to a misdemeanor during a hearing on Thursday, August 13. Page Six was the first to report the news. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office also confirmed to the outlet that Judge Olivia Rosales denied Hickerson’s motion. Hickerson, 36, previously pleaded no contest in 2021 to two felony counts of injuring a spouse or girlfriend after he was arrested and received an eight-count criminal indictment. The charges were related to a series of alleged incidents involving Panettiere between 2019 and 2020. Days after Hickerson’s request was denied, Panettiere died on Sunday, August 16, at age 36. In dispatch audio obtained by People, officials in Greenville County were heard discussing an “overdose” and “cardiac arrest” around the time of Panettiere’s death. Simon & Schuster is facing new questions about its handling of Jason Arday’s memoir, “Great and Unfortunate Things,” after publicly standing behind the book and its editorial review despite mounting scrutiny of the late University of Cambridge professor’s academic work and autobiographical claims. TheWrap sought comment from Simon & Schuster multiple times on Monday, including asking whether the publisher is reassessing the book and whether it has asked retailers or booksellers to pause additional orders. The publisher did not respond. Simon & Schuster had previously defended its editorial process as scrutiny of Arday intensified before publication. “We have worked closely with Professor Jason Arday on ‘Great and Unfortunate Things’ since acquiring it and can speak to the professionalism and integrity he has brought to every stage of the publication,” the publisher said in a statement previously provided to The Guardian. The publisher said Arday, co-writer Eve Claxton and its editorial and legal teams worked together to “carefully research, write and corroborate the narrative.” When The Guardian asked for more information about the book’s fact-checking, Simon & Schuster said it did not comment on its editorial processes. Some of Arday’s previously publicized claims were revised or did not appear in the…

As anyone associated with Slough House is seemingly marked for death, a character who was believed to be dead appears in the flesh.
Tom Holland stands to make over $100 million for starring in Sony and Marvel’s global hit “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” a massive haul that puts him in the rare category of Hollywood’s top-earning actors and already comes on top of a payday from his other 2026 global hit, “The Odyssey.” According to three individuals with knowledge of Holland’s deal, the actor scored a base salary of at least $20 million up front — an increase of $10 million from his last Spider-Man gig — with the potential to earn upwards of $100 million when backend bonuses are factored in as “Brand New Day” zooms towards a final global box office haul of over $2 billion. Even more remarkable: Holland’s backend bonus is not capped, so there’s no ceiling to how much he may ultimately make, one individual added. “Spider-Man” crossed $2 billion at the global box office this weekend, and is only in its third week of release. “He will make at least” $100 million, said this individual, who declined to say how high that payday might soar. A representative for Sony Pictures said the studio does not comment on cast salaries. Representatives for Holland did not respond to TheWrap’s…
Buckle up, “Slow Horses” fans. Things are about to get bumpy for the misfit residents of MI5’s Slough House (again). Apple TV unveiled Tuesday morning the first trailer for “Slow Horses” Season 6. Based on author Mick Herron’s 2019 novel “Joe Country,” the new season catches back up with Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), River Cartwright (Jack Lowden) and the other members of Slough House as they find themselves hunted for unknown reasons by a pair of anonymous assassins (“Andor” star Kyle Soller and “The Witcher” star MyAnna Buring). The growing number of deaths force ex-Slow Horse Louisa Guy (Rosalind Eleazar) back into the fold, and she is not the only familiar face featured in the “Slow Horses” Season 6 trailer. Hugo Weaving is also set to make his return as Frank Harkness, River’s merciless mercenary father, who has not been seen since the “Slow Horses” Season 4 finale. Even more notably, the “Slow Horses” Season 6 trailer concludes with the long-awaited return of “House of the Dragon” star Olivia Cooke as Sidonie “Sid” Baker, the former MI5 operative that River and co. were led to believe was killed early in the show’s first season. You can check out her return…
