The hosts of “The View” were baffled on Tuesday morning, after watching a clip from a recent CNN interview with California governor Gavin Newsom — that took place in a Montana river. Yes, really. Newsom was interviewed by Jake Tapper while the duo went fly fishing. Furing the conversation, he confirmed that he would not run for president in 2028 if Kamala Harris decides to run again, but watching that clip back, moderator Whoopi Goldberg was mostly hung up on the activity at hand. “It just seems such an odd place to have an interview,” she said, cocking her head. “Well, CNN keeps moving, so maybe they’re gonna do it in the water from now on,” Joy Behar quipped back. Meanwhile, host Sara Haines joked that neither man caught a single thing during the interview, while Sunny Hostin said she didn’t realize fly fishing was still “a thing.” Try as she might, Goldberg struggled to move the discussion along. “I don’t know. It’s just so weird!” she said confusedly. “All right, I’m going to leave it alone.” “I just picture Gavin Newsom like, I don’t know, either dressed as Batman or in a fancy restaurant, not out fly fishing,” Alyssa…

Nick Reiner will not be facing the death penalty for the December 2025 murders of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced on Tuesday. “We did speak with Nick Reiner’s siblings,” Hochman said at a morning press conference. “They made their views very clear. We took their views into consideration in ultimately deciding not to seek the death penalty.” If convicted, Nick faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. While no trial date has been set just yet, Hochman indicated he didn’t see it starting before 2027. Last month, Nick was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder after his parents were stabbed to death in their Brentwood home, adding a special circumstance allegation of lying in wait. Reiner was arrested just hours after his parents were found dead in their home and has been held without bail ever since. He has pleaded not guilty. “We have gone through a rigorous review where we look at the aggravating factors as well as the mitigating factors, where we have spoken to the victims’ family, we have spoken to prosecutors, law enforcement, and worked with the most senior people…

“The View” is no stranger to on-air pregnancy announcements, and on Tuesday morning, it saw another. But this time, it was just a joke. The moment came at the end of the first Hot Topics discussion of the day, in which the ABC hosts ripped Donald Trump Jr. and his new wife for accepting huge monetary gifts from a Russian oligarch to help fund their wedding. To end the segment, moderator Whoopi Goldberg did as she always does, and teased ahead in the show. But this time, it was different. “And before we go to break, we have a big announcement,” she said. “I’m pregnant!” Goldberg immediately clarified that she was just joking, and the real announcement was a live taping of the show’s “Behind the Table” podcast. Still, the joke earned an audible reaction from the crowd and the table. Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time one of the hosts has surprised her colleagues with that kind of announcement. Host Alyssa Farah Griffin did it just last year. As Goldberg led a conversation about embarrassing moments, Farah Griffin noted she didn’t have a public embarrassment, but she did have a viral clip, courtesy of “The View” itself.…
