Leanne Morgan‘s Netflix show is giving Us Reba flashbacks — which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. After getting her start in stand-up comedy, Morgan used her stand-up material as inspiration for her sitcom. The first season, which also starred Kristen Johnston, Celia Weston, Blake Clark, Ryan Stiles and Graham Rogers, followed a woman from Tennessee who found herself starting over after her husband left her for another woman. “This is something I’ve dreamed of since I was a little girl, and it was just as exciting as I imagined,” Morgan told Netflix’s Tudum at the time. “Learning a new medium was definitely a challenge — memorizing new scripts every week was totally new for me — but I loved it. As a stand-up, the comedic timing felt natural, and filming in front of a live audience was especially comfortable. By the end of the season, it really felt like home.” While Leanne introduced new story lines, the basic premise had some similarities to Reba, which aired from 2001 to 2007. The hit show from the country superstar followed a single mom (McEntire) who had to start over after her husband, Brock (Christopher Rich), left her for his dental hygienist, Barbra…

Sarah Ferguson is reportedly headed back to the United Kingdom amid news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s surprising return. Multiple outlets reported that the former Duchess of York, 66, will be returning to England after spending time abroad. Ferguson will be renting a six-bedroom property which costs an estimated $8,000 per month, per The Sun and People. The home is based in the Home Counties near London. Ferguson has remained out of the spotlight after ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s associations with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein resurfaced. Ferguson also made headlines in January when the United States Department of Justice released a trove of Epstein Files including past emails, in which Ferguson referred to Epstein as a “spectacular and special friend” and “the brother I have always wished for.” (Ferguson previously addressed backlash surrounding their connection, stating, “I would never have anything to do with Jeffrey Epstein ever again. I abhor paedophilia and any sexual abuse of children. It was a gigantic error of judgment.”) Sarah Ferguson’s Ups and Downs With Royal Family: Epstein Scandal and More Earlier this year, she allegedly checked into an “expensive wellness clinic” in Switzerland, according to the Daily Mail. Months later, Ferguson…
If Jennifer Lopez is swapping sneakers for ballet flats, I’m taking notes. Unlike sky-high heels, they’re one shoe trend I can realistically see myself wearing all day, especially with the cushioned, supportive options available now. Comfortable, feminine and polished? That’s what I call peak French mom style. The 57-year-old wore pale pink ballet flats while vacationing in Italy, pairing them with a corset-style midi dress, woven bucket hat and a coordinating bag. Inspired by her look, I found five similar styles, including picks with arch support, dainty bows and woven finishes. Prices start at just $22 — who knew stealing Lopez’s chic vacation style didn’t require a celebrity budget? 5 Ballet Flats That Channel Jennifer Lopez’s ‘French Mom’ Style 1. Très Chic: If I were building a French mom shoe collection from scratch, these satin Mary Jane flats would be one of my first additions. The dainty bow and subtle sheen make them feel prettier than your average flat, while the secure strap and cushioned insole are practical perks I’d appreciate at any age. 2. Paris Approved: I’m all for stealing French mom style, but I’d rather skip the blisters that can come with cute shoes. These foldable ballet flats have more than 4,000 five-star…

When John Boorman’s gonzo “Exorcist II: The Heretic” opened in 1977 as the sequel to William Friedkin’s original 1973 masterpiece, it was promptly pilloried by critics. (Gene Siskel, in his zero-star review, recounted how a man at his screening had playfully threatened Siskel’s life “if you say one nice thing about that lousy movie.” The man’s wife made sure the critic knew her husband was kidding.) Similarly, the movie’s box office disappointed. “Exorcist II” made $30.7 million, compared to the original’s $441.3 million, cementing the perception that the movie wasn’t just bad but was one of the worst movies ever. Over the years that idea was repeated – that it wasn’t just a lackluster sequel but by filmmaker Friedkin’s own measure “a freaking disgrace.” Time has been kind to Boorman and to “Exorcist II,” and a reappraisal has slowly occurred in the decades since its release. Its outrageousness is now celebrated and its striking dissimilarity to the original is a feature, not a bug. Special edition home video releases have been produced and Boorman, one of our most underrated auteurs, is finally being acknowledged for his influence and artistic achievements. But the biggest contribution to the continued rehabilitation of “Exorcist II” arrives this…

Kylie Jenner is keeping her title of "Youngest Self-Made Billionaire." Seven years after Forbes sparked controversy for dubbing her as such due to the success of Kylie Cosmetics, the ‘Kardashians’ star argued why she feels she deserves the recognition. "None of the money I’ve ever made is inherited, so it’s technically true," Kylie contended in a Who What Wear interview published Aug. 27, "but people just feel like the privilege I’ve had was a major stepping stone." It’s a defense the 29-year-old has put up before. “There’s really no other word to use other than self-made because that is the truth," Kylie told Interview Germany in 2019. "That is the category that I fall under." In fact, the makeup mogul noted that she "did not get money from" her parents Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner "past the age of 15," two years before launching her beauty label. "I am a special case because before I started Kylie Cosmetics, I had a huge platform and lots of fans," she continued. "I used 100 percent of my own money to start the company." Kylie added, "Not a dime in my bank account is inherited, and I am very proud of that." Full…

Post Malone’s fiancée, Christy Lee, is pulling back the veil on the singer’s romantic proposal more than one week after their engagement made headlines. Lee told Vogue on Friday, August 28, that Malone (real name Austin Richard Post) popped the question on August 17 at his new ranch in Utah after dropping hints that he was ring shopping earlier in the year. (News broke on August 19 that the pair were engaged after Lee was spotted with a diamond sparkler on her left hand in several photos posted by her BFFs.) “A couple months before the proposal, Austin started casually slipping these very ‘hypothetical’ questions about rings into conversation, trying to figure out what I liked without giving himself away,” she recalled. “One day, completely out of the blue, he asked me, ‘Pear, heart, or cushion?’ I told him I’d always thought there was something so chic about an oval.” Post Malone Is Engaged to Christy Lee After Quietly Rekindling Their Romance Lee remembered telling the “Sunflower” singer, 31, that instead of a ring with diamonds around the band, she “preferred the opposite — something very simple, with a delicate, thin gold band.” When Malone asked if there was such…

To hear Jerry Seinfeld tell it, he had a major hand in American Express’ creation of its Centurion Card (widely known as the Black Card) in 1999. As the story goes, when Seinfeld was a spokesperson for American Express in the 1990s, a member of a commercial’s crew asked him if he owned an AmEx Black Card. Not knowing what it was but thinking it was about time he did, he called up the company’s president at the time, Harvey Golub, and said that he wanted one — but it turned out the coveted card for the ultra-rich and famous was just a rumor at that time. When it was made a reality, Seinfeld said he was the first person to be gifted one. The iconic comedian first broke out the story on his Netflix’s talk series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” with guest John Mulaney in 2018. But in a recent live audience interview with comic and actor Sebastian Maniscalco to launch his “We Got Company!” podcast, Seinfeld added another layer to the tale. “I was on the set, we’re shooting a commercial, and one of the guys on the crew slides up next to me and whispers, ‘Do…
