Oprah Winfrey is revealing why she left her nearly decade-long partnership with WeightWatchers. Speaking with Jimmy Kimmel during a recent episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” Oprah told the late-night host that her upcoming special played a significant role in why she left the weight-loss company, saying, “I decided that because this special was really important to me and I wanted to be able to talk about whatever I want to talk about, and WeightWatchers is now in the business of being a weight health company that also administers drug medications for weight. I did not want to have the appearance of any conflict of interest.” The 70-year-old author added that she resigned from the board and donated all her shares to the National Museum of African American History And Culture. “An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution” is set to air Monday, March 18 on ABC at 8:00PM EDT and the next day on Hulu.
