Larry David chats with ET’s Denny Directo at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’s final season, debuting Feb. 4 on HBO. The star confirms the long-running hit show won’t be returning after season 12 and shares what he’ll miss most. Plus, Larry addresses speculation of a ‘Seinfeld’ reunion happening on the show before the series’ finale.
Say It Ain’t So that this is the last season, is it so? Yeah, what do I have to do? Yes, it’s so. I really did the best under the circumstances of a person who hates people and yet had to be amongst them. We’re hopeful that you’d want to do more. What would convince you to do more episodes? No, it’s, it’s we’re done, it’s over, yeah, it’s over.
So, let me ask you this, what will you miss most about working on this show? I’ll miss, uh, TV Larry, yeah. What’s the biggest difference between TV Larry and the Larry David that stands before me? TV Larry right now would tell you to f off. [Laughter] I think we got it, I think we got it.
Now, what won’t you miss? Uh, probably getting up at 5:00 in the morning. Yeah. Now, did you keep a memento from the set at all to remember this time? A memento, that’s a good question. I have some Seinfeld mementos, but I’m not sure I have any Curb mementos. I heard you guys have some reshoots though, so maybe it’s not too late. Yeah, yeah, it’s not too late, you’re right.
Now, Jerry Seinfeld has been hinting at some type of Seinfeld project in the works, what can you tell? Any chance we’re going to see the cast on this final season of Curb? No, no, no. That’s now Cheryl’s husband is running for president, what kind of first lady do you think Cheryl Hines would be? What, what am I supposed to say to a question like that? I feel like she, oh, she’ll be a great first lady. Okay, great, yeah, first lady, what do they do anyway?
Uh, what do you want fans to know about this final season, will they be satisfied with where the characters end up by the end? I, I think, I think it will provide some laughs, always. Congratulations, sir. [Music] Yeah.
