Ryan Gosling reflected on why starring in the upcoming film ‘Project Hail Mary’ was, in part, inspired by him being dad to his and wife Eva Mendes’ daughters, 11-year-old Esmeralda and 9-year-old Amada. "Being a dad, having two young kids, and I feel like everything is designed to scare them," Ryan told Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce on the March 18 episode of their ‘New Heights’ podcast. "I was so grateful just as a father to get to make a story for my kids—maybe, not to be too lofty—for their generation, that reminds you of what we’re capable of as human beings."
