Celine Dion’s sister is giving fans a rare update on her journey with Stiff Person Syndrome. Claudette Dion candidly spoke to HELLO! Canada in a new interview published on August 31, revealing that Celine is still battling the disease. “She’s doing everything to recover. She’s a strong woman,” the 74-year-old said. Her sister went on to reflect on some of the scary symptoms. “It’s an illness we know so little about. There are spasms – they’re impossible to control. You know who people often jump up in the night because of a cramp in the leg or the calf? It’s a bit like that, but in all muscles. There’s little we can do to support her, to alleviate her pain,” she told the outlet. Her loved one tells the publication the 55-year-old and her family are “praying for a miracle.” “We’re crossing our fingers that researchers will find a remedy for this awful illness,” Claudette added. In December 2022, Celine revealed her rare diagnosis in a YouTube video while announcing that she would have to postpone shows. “Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life. Sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I am used to,” Celine shared.
