Prince William might have to step up his royal duties following King Charles’ cancer diagnosis. The palace revealed on Monday that the 75-year-old monarch is getting cancer treatment. The news came days after the king was released from the hospital following a three-night stay for prostate surgery. The palace went on to note that his majesty will follow doctors’ advice to step away from public duties in the interim. This could mean that Prince William might add on some royal duties on behalf of his father in additional to his own diary of engagements, according to People. However, the outlet reports the palace does not have any plans to appoint Counsellors of State—which allows the four adults in the British line of succession to carry out constitutional duties for the monarch if he is abroad or feeling unwell.
