Elizabeth Smart is feeling strong. Smart—who was kidnapped and held captive for nine months when she was a teenager in 2002—is also grateful for how becoming a bodybuilder has helped her feel more comfortable in her own skin. “It’s taught me to let go of the shame that I felt after everything that I experienced,” she shared. “It taught me that my body is beautiful, and I don’t need to be ashamed of it. I can embrace it.” And it’s those emotions that Smart is hoping to channel through her new iHeartRadio podcast ‘The Survivor Files with Elizabeth Smart,’ which launches Aug. 17.
